Our group doesn't focus only on specific propulsion units, but also on specific elements composing the propulsion system. In this frame we have supported companies doing studies on specific features of interest.

We are able to perform analyses of propellant sloshing at zero gravity as well as with residual accelerations, on reservoirs with and without bladders or other damping systems.

We did several analyses in the frame of the EUCLID mission for Thales Alenia Space.

Under Thales Alenia contract we did several studies to simulate propellant behavior under zero-g conditions, and the performance of propellant management devices, especially sponges.

We have supported Thales Alenia Space in the analysis of priming behavior of a hydrazine motor. In this frame, we performed numerical simulations of the transient fluid behavior and experimental tests. In the experimental campaign we build up a mock-up representative of the thruster fluidic system equipped with fast pressure sensors in order to study pressure drops and hammer effects.
